THE TEAM

Ever since our first race, Mellow Yellow Racing has been a team effort. Our racing would not have been possible without the help and support of our sponsors, friends and families. The team has now developed enough to be able to support two new riders who are competing in their first full season of MZ racing.

In September 1999 I sent Paul and Gareth to the Ron Haslam Race School at Donnington Park. Little did I realise that within a year I would be running a fully fledged motorcycle road race team, with Paul as the rider and Gareth as the invaluable mechanic. From these humble beginnings the team has grown from strength to strength. Mellow Yellow Racing now has three riders, manufacturer sponsorship and a growing club of supporters.

Following my debut at Donnington Park it was only 5 months before I was out on circuit racing an MZ. Many thanks to Kevin Fuller, and the BMZRC, who provided the club rent-a-racer, and endless help and advice. A year later we had built the first Mellow Yellow MZ. As yet I have not been able to complete a full championship, as both the 2002 and 2003 seasons were blighted by injury. However, a race win at Brands Hatch has set the standard and I'm aiming high for 2004.

After serving my apprenticeship as mechanic to 'Fast' Paul Cundy, I finally bit the bullet and began riding for Mellow Yellow Racing in 2003. I won the 'MZ novice of the meeting' at Snetterton in August, and scored my first points there in October with an eleventh place in the last race of the season.

Big Thanks to: My Dad, 'Fast' Paul Cundy, Mike Kilty, Bec, Suzannah, Sean Wogan, Ashley Beugge and all our sponsors.

I have been a spectator at several MZ races, and after watching Paul's first race win I decided to try it myself. Mike Kilty got me out there on the club rent-a-racer and I was hooked. We have spent the winter building a Mellow Yellow MZ and I will be competing in every round of the 2004 Championship. I look forward to the smell of two strokes in the collecting area and donating my novice bib to charity.
